Facebook Down Today? Users Report Trouble – August 19, 2009

Dozens of Twitter users and downrightnow visitors have been reporting that Facebook is down this morning. While the issue doesn’t seem to be affecting everyone (we couldn’t immediately reproduce the problem at downrightnow HQ) the volume of complaints points to a potentially widespread disruption or network issue.
Facebook Status History as of Noon ET
As we’ve noted before, Facebook is not exactly forthcoming about service disruptions compared to other web services (like Twitter and Gmail) that maintain an official service status web site. Thanks to everyone who has been reporting the issue for helping to confirm that this isn’t an isolated problem.

Facebook is loading right now in txt version only. The only graphics that are loading are the pics. The stylesheet seems to be missing… Anybody else see this happening???
